RBC Royal Bank TurboTax Discount for 2015 in Canada

rbc royal bank turbotax discount

Updated March 11, 2015: If you’re wondering where to find the RBC Royal Bank TurboTax discount for 2015 here in Canada, then we are sorry to say that it is no longer offer this year to both customers and employees for RBC. We’re not sure why but it might have something to do with some of the other partnerships that TurboTax decided to form – Most notably with BMO, Scotiabank and TD Canada Trust – All which are direct competitors to Royal Bank.

So what to do now?

Even though you won’t save on your TurboTax CA purchase through RBC this year, you’ll still be able to save with one of the many other deals that are currently available. These basically fall into three different buckets:

  1. General TurboTax Canada promotions – Head on over one of deal pages for TurboTax Standard, Premier, Home & Business, or TurboTax 20. If you’re not sure which version to choose, just start with the Standard edition and the software will give you a chance to upgrade to a higher version later on if needed.
  2. Other financial institution partnerships – If you are a BMO Bank of Montreal, Scotiabank or TD Canada Trust customer, then you can save 20% on the cost of filing your taxes with TurboTax. Best of all, all three of these offers are open to just about anyone that purchases from the partnership pages so no need to verify that you are in fact a customer to get the savings.
  3. Free offer for Students – If you have a simple tax return to file and you were a student in 2014 (must have been paying tuition in FY2014), then you may qualify to file your taxes for free this year with TurboTax Canada. And even though it doesn’t cost you anything, you still get customized support for all your school related expenses and everything else you need to get the maximum tax refund this year.

Regardless of the offer you end up selecting, you’’ll be able to save some money on TurboTax.
