Updated February 25th, 2015: Ever since Adobe introduced CC and announced that there will not be a CS7 release, they have made it extremely difficult to figure out how to buy Photoshop CS6 from Adobe.com, let alone how to find any of the CS6 trial links. Well, fortunately you can still both download the trial and buy it at Adobe.com.
Besides going through the standard trial download, you can also use the below direct download links to avoid installing Akamai Download Manager (which has been known to cause issues for many users). You’ll need to follow these steps to exactly how it’s stated below otherwise it will not work and you will receive an error message:
- Step 1: You’ll need to be signed in to your Adobe.com account. If you don’t have one, it’s free and takes about 30 seconds to sign up (an email address and name is required to get started). The email you provide will not be verified so you can use a fake one if you wish to avoid future email marketing spam from Adobe.
- Step 2: Once you a logged in, visit this link (it will open in a new window) and leave the page open during the duration of the download process as it will keep you logged into your account in the next steps. Click on the “download now” button, and then when it asks you to save the file, choose cancel the download so that you will not install the Adobe Download Assistant (it’s not needed and we do not recommend installing it on your computer).
- Step 3: Use the links below to download the Photoshop version that you wish to try.
- Step 4: Once downloaded, open the file to start the installation process.
If you have any issues or can not access the files, then leave your questions below and we’ll try to help!

I downloaded from the link above “Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended English Windows” files 1 of 2 and 2 of 2. Do I need both files?
Ahmad
Hi Eric when I click to the Adobe Photoshop cs6 Extended English Windows. Download started, why the filename Photoshop_13_LS16 ?
Ranganayaki
is there any method by which i can extend the trial period?
Eric
You can signup to Adobe Creative Cloud if you haven’t already which includes Photoshop. It’s not exactly CS6 but a slightly newer/updated version of it. You’ll have 30 days to test it out before this trial expires.

Access Denied
You don’t have permission to access “http://trials2.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PHSP/13/win32/Photoshop_13_LS16.7z” on this server.

Hi Geneva – Try closing your browser, clearing cookies and trying again. Remember to first login with your Adobe ID before accessing the links as you will receive the error.
David
I followed your recommendation to Geneva but I continue to get the exact same: “You don’t have permission to access “http://trials2.adobe.com/….” as she did. Are you sure your procedure still suppose to work?
I talked with Adobe and basically they try to avoid SELLING products and trying to force people to RENT their stuff (sure they call it subscription which sounds a nicer word than renting).
Eric
Hi David,
Should work (it’s good on my end here). You can try clearing cookies, closing your browser and all tabs, reopening it, and trying again (or trying a different browser).
You can also download the CS6 trials from this Adobe help page: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/cs6-product-downloads.html
Hope this helps!

Hi Chris,
Make sure you are first logged in to your (free) Adobe account – Otherwise you will not be able to access the file.
Cheers,
Eric
Jennifer
Hi, so is there a way to take the trial version and extend it to a full version.. or to get it to work without the internet on so I can keep using it.
And one more thing… when I use the program, it asks me if I want to continue as a trial but doesn’t give how much time I have left. I am hoping that is a good thing and there is no expiration?
Eric
Hi Jennifer,
All of Adobe’s CS6 trials are thirty days long… One you get near the end of the free trial period it will start counting down the remaining days for you.
To extend the trial into a full version you’ll have to obtain a key – Either purchase one (there are some deals on Photoshop CS6 going on right now) or download a keygen if you don’t want to pay for it (something we unfortunately can’t help with here on Software Voucher). If you do decide to purchase a copy of Photoshop CS6 then remember you can install it on two computers (you may even consider splitting the cost with a friend).
Cheers,
Eric
Jennifer
ok so I should not click to license the software, but rather wait until it asks for a serial number at the end of the trial? I have also seen software called runasdate that will continually run a program with a previous date.
Eric
Unfortunately RunAsDate doesn’t help in extending the trial period for Photoshop (Adobe’s software uses a different type of time stamp).
Do you know anyone still in school? Maybe a member of the family (regardless what age)? You can still pick up a license of Photoshop CS6 Extended at the student discounted price of $348.00 (retails for $999.00!). That’s the cheapest price we’ve seen unless you’re interested in Photoshop Elements which is almost always on sale well under $100.
MrMJ
Perfect! Thanks!! Do you know if it works for other adobe programs like illustrator?
Eric
Yup! Here are the free trial likes to Illustrator CS6 (just be sure to follow the instructions above to get these to work).
Adobe Illustrator CS6 English (Mac)
Adobe Illustrator CS6 English (Windows)

Kayla

chris
nice!
Daniel
Is it normal for it to take hours to extract? I’m not seeing any signs of progress here.
Daniel
alright, it was just a problem with the program I was using. Fixed now.
JAc
Hi, i got a problem. There is no serial key for the registration and in the instructions isnt any code
Matt
Because it’s a “Trial” not the full version…
Todd
im getting access denied when i click the mac link, can you help?
sebastian
Thanks a lot.
Fred
the file has a .7z extension, in order to open it you will need a program called 7Zip which unzips/unpackages the file…
Geneva
Works perfectly.. thanks. 🙂
chris
hi, I’ve downloaded cs6 Extended Windows, and extract it also.. Any suggestion on that?? thanks
Jillian
I downloaded the file with no trouble, but Windows will not open it until I tell it what program to open it with. I am not sure which one to use. Suggestions?

Hi! quick question: if I already have Acrobat XI free trial installed on my computer can I proceed to step 3 directly? Thanks!
Me
This works just fine! Thank you very much!!!! I was looking for that f****** trial setup since hours ….
Aus
Hi,
I followed the steps but then after it is all done downloading it now says there is no compatible way to open it. Is that supposed to happen??
pav
hi Eric, step 2 doesn’t work for me. I followed the steps exactly as you said. When I click on ‘download now’ (step 2) it does not download.
Eric
Hi Pav, Step two will open a new window (make sure to leave it open). Then come back to this page and select the download in step #3 (either mac or pc). The download should then begin.
Hope that helps!
-Eric
pav
after i click ‘download now’ it actually says ‘waiting for stats.adobe.com…’
Eric
It’s hard to say what’s going on as there could be several different issues at play… I would recommend deleting any uncompleted downloads (if you were able to get any files to start downloading), restart your machine and try again but in a different browser to see it that does the trick.
ashwin`
After a download about 1.1 GB it showed 2 minutes left and all of a sudden downloading stops and I got message after some time that failed (network error). Now what to do with incomplete download? Is there any solution as my network is running smoothly so that shouldn’t be the issue.
Eric
Hi Ashwin,
Have you tried from a different network or computer? Perhaps you can try again as it should work without issues. Just be sure that you’re downing the right file for your system (Mac or PC).
Cheers,
Eric
Neil
Hey Eric, the same thing has happened to me 3 times, and I have no other network to connect to. Suggestions?
Lewis
Hi, what do you mean by this link on step 2??
Eric
Hi Lewis – Good catch. The link has been updated. Thank you!
Lewis
Thank you!!! It works perfectly now! I can’t thank you enough!!!
mary
link does not work.
Eric
Mark sure you follow the steps outlined and THEN select one of the download links provided. Otherwise they won’t work and you’ll receive an error page.
