Updated February 25th, 2016: It’s been some time now since CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X7 has been released and we’re starting to itch for the next major update. Unlike other graphic design software programs that run on an annual refresh cycle, most notably Adobe’s Creative Cloud, Corel has historically stuck to a two-year product cycle with CorelDraw. From what we’ve heard coming out from Corel, we don’t expect things to change this time around. Be on the lookout for CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X8 (which is version 18) to be announced and released in March 2016.

Watch for CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X8 to be released in March 2016.- Rumored CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X8 Release Date

CorelDRAW has been around for a long time now (some of us older folks even remember it back to when it debuted on Windows 3 in 1989). Well, we won’t list out the full release date history but here’s a look at major updates since 2000:

  • CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X7 (v.17) – This is the current version. It was released on March 27th, 2014.
  • CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 (v.16) – Released on March 20th, 2012.
  • CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 (v.15) – Released on February 23rd, 2010.
  • CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 (v.14) – Released on January 22nd, 2008.
  • CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X3 (v.13) – Released on January 17th, 2006.
  • CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 – Released on Feb 10th, 2004.
  • CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 11 – August 1st, 2002.
  • CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 10 – Released on Nov 13th, 2000.

Notice that each full release happened about 2 years apart from each other.

Once it’s released, can I qualify for a free upgrade?

Well, this depends. If you’re on their subscription plan then you will be able to upgrade to any future version for free as long as you’re an active subscriber. If you own a perpetual license, either X7 or X6, they you should be able to qualify for an upgrade discount which sees you a cool 60% off (that’s assuming that prices and policies don’t change). Just note that all Academic, Home and Student, OEM and Not for Resale (NFR) versions are excluded from the upgrade eligibility. Finally, if you happen to buy X7 within 30 days of the release of X8, you can request for a refund under their 30-day return policy and order the new version.

Expected improvements in X8.

With more and more former Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator users switching to CorelDRAW Graphics Suite to avoid monthly subscription fees (due to the end of Creative Suite and subscription-only Creative Cloud that Adobe forced onto their users), we expect Corel to pull out all the cards with this next update. As Adobe’s only legit contender and with the recent inflow of new users, expected to see the ability to import and open most Adobe files as well as speed and workflow improvements. We hope this next release will get rid of CorelDraw’s proprietary format – It makes you have to always have a copy of the software to open your older files and can be cumbersome when sending files to others that may not use Corel. We ale hope the “Website Creator” will show some improvements as it’s still pretty weak after all the updates over the years and an awkward piece of software to use.

What do you want to see improved in version X8?

If you’re currently using version X6 or X7 now, let us know what you would like to see improved or changed in CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X8. Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

  1. September 15, 2016

I’m currently using CDX3 on an old XP and CDX7 on a Windows 7 computer (self taught). On X3 it is super easy to export an art file as an ai file for use on a mac program, but I can’t figure out how to to this on X7 (it doesn’t let you specify if it is for PC or Mac use). Is there a way to do this on X7? If not, it should be added.

  2. March 31, 2016

Hi I am using CorelDraw since version 1 when I was studying in Italy way back in early 90s and never look back. Now using X6 Manage to convince all my staff to move Corel . My only comment is I prefer some features in X4 can still be in use as I am still using it till today in XP. Like to know if the QR code in X8 can use *.csv files to create multiple codes? And also in merge can we merge photos as in Indesign

Corel X8 for MAC…for the love of God, PLEEEEAAAAASSSEEEEE!!!!!

  4. March 27, 2016

CorelDRAW for LINUX (and mac in the same move?).
I have CorelDraw for oh so many years.
However, having moved to Linux some years ago, I setup a virtual Windows machine (Windows XP) for my remaining Windows programs. CorelDraw is one of the last 2 remaining programs in there. (And since WinXP, I’m stuck at CDR X3.)
Based on Microsofts forcing people to Win10, a software as a service (where people can’t choose/select anymore on which updates and patches they want to install at their computer), I saw an increasing move to Linux.
So please, make CorelDraw more platform independend or cross platform!
    So please

  5. March 14, 2016

CorelDraw natively for Mac OS please.

    Michael Zaaijer

More accurate/flawless import of PDF files…like in InDesign….

  10. February 26, 2016

As a old timer since coreldraw3 Ive used corel for nothing but illustration and layout design, for custom screen printing. I always loved the product and still do. I bought a Imac with a 27” monitor whichis candy to the eyes afew years ago, tried a virtual windows on a imac it worked well ok I’ll give it that much, But along with alot of other people here I would gladly pay a bit more for a Mac version! Also after using a tablet for years and moved up to a cintiq I do love adobe’s AI blob brush, I wish so much that coreldraw had that as I quite often do use it for free hand illustration and with the wacom cintiq it actually feels like I’m working directly on paper was we would of many years ago with a speedball Ink pen.

  11. February 23, 2016

there must be the layers option like Photoshop and there must be tool which remember any object location like coordinate or an X Y location facility

    • March 15, 2016

      Samarth Shetty

CorelDRAW already has Layers since many versions.

  12. February 15, 2016

CorelDraw’s color picker tool should have more pixel sampling options.

  13. February 11, 2016

We can all have our wishes to have Corel include so many of the useful features mentioned in this post, into CorelDRAW. Most of them already existing as standard features in other similar software for years now. Unfortunately COREL is NOT LISTENING!! 🙂

  14. February 10, 2016

Still being on an X4 (now with _invisible_ top menu on Windows 10 😉 – I’m way behind.
But I would love to see some “permanent snapping” features. Having played a bit around with SolidWorks it’s just awsome to be able to make adjustments without moving everything afterwards… Besides that I just hope Corel have learnt from previous mistakes: Please start with a fairly stable release. (My X4 still crashes sometimes when saving – or rather trying to do so, dooh!)

  15. January 19, 2016

I’m waiting on Corel x8. It need to have a much better trace program or just a button you click to change a jpg or pdf to a good vector that looks the same as what you asked for.
The fit to path could more user friendly or changed all together.By just clicking on where
you want it instead of having to make the circle. Digital Arts has a much easier way of doing this.
    Thank you!

Make QR Codes Dynamic instead of just Static.

    • February 16, 2016

      Really! it’s right!

  17. January 17, 2016

I’d like to see cheaper prices. While Corel updates Draw every 2 years, it is still pricey.

  18. January 11, 2016

Anything that is off the page, should only show on the page that it is related to.

It would be handy with the mouse wheel to scroll from one page to another rather than clicking from page to page.

When importing .DWG files (I haven’t tried other files with layers in), when a second or third file is imported Draw shouldn’t duplicate the layers when there are common layers. This is completely impractical and makes selection extremely difficult.

When importing jpegs it would be nice to be offered the resolution they are brought in at as oftentimes the image is far too large to be useable straightaway.

I haven’t been using Draw for long, so I may be able to remedy some of the above by adjusting settings.

  19. January 5, 2016

    Hide unselected
    Hide selected

  20. January 5, 2016

    1. “Align” as in 3ds MAX

I have been using CorelDraw since version 1, and upgraded to every new version. The only feature that I wish in version 8 is the ability to create Arabic calligraphy within CorelDraw.

Maybe Corel needs to acquire specialized companies in Arabic calligraphy such as:
    2- Arabic Calligrapher from Golansoft
    3- Kelk from SinaSoft

    Sunshine Mbulo

I have been using Coreldraw ever since 1991. It is a very visitile programme which you can do whatever disgne you want to do without any difficulties. You get the results you expect to see and be saticified. The programme is very flexible.

    Nikos Eliadis

Hello Users, I’m a graphic designer & using Corel Draw since 1999. Also i’m using the last 5 years mac! I love both! So, my function is a little bit crazy, i have both programms (win&os) cause of corel. THIS THING WITH COREL HAS TO STOP!!!! PLEASE COREL DO SOMETHING. WE LOVE U SO MUCH!!!!
So without loughs, ’cause Corel is not only a beginning designing programm but a very serious contemporary graphic designing programm (we design olympic games 2004 in corel at the advertisings companies.), Corel have to see the future more open!!
Thank u for your time, Nikos

Yess.. Please make Coreldraw for Mac, one reason i am using windows on virtual machine on my mac is to use coredraw.

    • February 16, 2016

I too sincerly wish that Corel X8 will be Mac Compatible. That would make a world of difference. Started using Corel about a couple of decades ago love it since the time it came into the market. Would want to see it Mac Compatible. Have a Mac Book Pro but what use is it if I can’t design with CorelDraw.

  25. November 27, 2015

Using CorelDRAW since version 5. Currently using X6.
Great software with lots of useful features not available anywhere else.

My wishlist is short and simple:
    * MAC version (a must)
    * Live preview in every dialog specially Outline Color and Uniform Fill (a must)
    * Improved Auto Trace (a must)
    * Bug fixes and overall improvement in stability
    * Faster processing and redraw of large files
    * More attention to drawing tools
    * More attention to VB automation

  26. November 27, 2015

I am Calligrapher in Arabic mode, allready i converted the fanous fonts of adobe ( AXT ) to be in use within the coreldraw by ( Font Lab Studio ) & ( Font Creator )

  27. November 20, 2015

    1. Integrate WordPerfect into Draw. The current text tools are still too clumsy. It would add life to a once-great product (sniff!).

    2. Standardize shortcut keys between PhotoPaint and Draw (such as text shortcuts).

    3. PhotoPaint’s macro recorder tool is way too clumsy and clunky.

  28. November 19, 2015

I would like work pipeline from Coreldraw to Paintshop Pro interchangeably or through Aftershot Pro as the first major change..and secondly.. 3D space creation and effects like AO, Cast shadows and stuff like that in either coreldraw or Paintshop Pro with seamless communication between the two applications

  29. November 12, 2015

Pshew – lots of comments. I’ll go back and read them but first …

    1. Something ultimately simple to implement – IMAGE-MAPS that automatically produce a text page to go along with the image map, on export to HTML. The header of the text page directs search engines to display the image map to the user, but INDEXES THE TEXT – hey hey hey!
(Right now doing this manually is sloppy, and time consuming! – it’s a cheap and easy mockup / production hybrid.)

    2. Return of a gif animator (motion gifs are catching on again as they make great thumbnails.)

  30. November 7, 2015

Adobe had resolved the writing in Arabic mode with the ( AXT ) fonts. writing in Arabic mode with Coreldraw id disaster???????????.
    Sorry COREL

  31. November 3, 2015

Not so much as things to be fixed but features that X8 should include. I use over 40 different macros that automate otherwise lengthy and tedious tasks. These are all 1-click command. That’s the beauty of Corel over he others. You need it to do some crazy stuff there’s usually a way to do it with macros.
    1. Auto dimension
    2. Contour all selected shapes and separate them
3.Replace objects with currently selected one (2-clicks)
    4. Create octagon – polygon tool has too many steps and octagon has to be rotated 22.5deg.
    5. Create arrow
    6. Ellipse to page
    7. Ellipse to shape and ellipse to all selected shapes
    8. Select all dimensions
    9. Crop marks (the way I like them to be)
    10. Weed lines
    11. Text weed lines
    12. Delete Empty Layers
    13. Label my color swatches
    14. Split shapes/images in half
    15. Split into quarters
    16. Powerclip (select shape/shift+select frame then hit macro)
    17. Remove shapes from powerclip and revert frame back to “none”
    18. Toggle to wireframe view and back.
    19. Select all the colors from current selection that match the color that you pluck with the eyedropper
    20. same as above but select the outlines instead.
    21. make outline same as filled.

These are just a few I’ve accumulated over the years.

      We’d really appreciate your experience

When you take a bitmap into Corel it does a so so job.
I would like Corel to do a better job of converting a bitmap to vector.
Also an easier way to fit to path.
Better instructions on how to use some of the functions people don’t even know are there.
Looking forward to X8 blowing everyone anyway.

  32. October 28, 2015

i would like to see a Mac version and wish less bugs.

  33. October 25, 2015

Please make it compatible with Mac.

  34. October 24, 2015

Compatibility with OS X System !

  35. October 15, 2015

I would like to see tenth of a micron resolution on mm scale. I also would like to see export to GDSII or Gerber. PLEASE!!!

  36. October 9, 2015

Export a PDF as bitmap for a client proof, no text as curves, just a simple bitmap at the chosen low resolution.

  37. October 9, 2015

possibility to georeference layers and objects

  38. October 1, 2015

Ohh yeah, and built in font matching similar to “Find my font”
to where you can match your closest loaded fonts, that you already own,
to the font you’re trying to match, instead of having to use a 3rd party website that tries to con you into buying their fonts… yeah, that would be nice!

  39. October 1, 2015

1 Scale: The ability to set multiple pages to multiple scales.
2 Get rid of that ” this zoom has exceeded blah blah blah” warning
3 improve the crappy “align node” tool, make it more like the regular Align tool
and have it so you can dock it if you want.
4 improve the option of having the outline of objects light up if they’re selected so that it’s easier to see what you have selected.
5 improve the “save your work space” to where not just half the stuff reverts back.

    • November 3, 2015

number 4 – you mean (tools/customization/display “highlight outline for selected objects”?

  40. September 29, 2015

Would love 3D-tools for packaging design simular to ESKO-Studio-Software. CorelDraw is traditionally a software that is used in the (pre-)production area. It would be good if the strengths of the program to be expanded in this field.

    • January 4, 2016

      Yasser Saeed

Agree 100000000% and indeed, ESKO Studio software is amazing and powerful.

  41. September 25, 2015

Corel Draw can import Adobe PSD file but not PSIMAGE file that is Corel Paintshop Pro proprietary format ( the same thing in Corel Paintshop Pro: we can’t import or open proprietary format of Corel Photo Paint)

  42. September 15, 2015

It would be exciting to have another option for the surface pro as far as vector programs. Core’ Draw rotation and scaling features are very intuitive, but the interface is not tablet friendly. A vector program with the tablet friendliness of sketchbook pro would be amazing.

  43. September 2, 2015

Can you add a feature for performing consecutive numbering. We manufacture a lot of nameplates and having this feature built into CorelDRAW would sure make life a whole lot easier.

    Thank you

    • September 25, 2015

Use the mail merge function – works fine and has been there for ages 🙂

I do sequential numbering all the time…

  44. August 27, 2015

Pretty please can we have the ability to color code the docker tabs, instead of having to read through all the tabs to discover where the one we want to use next has wandered off to?

  45. August 26, 2015

Please improve the script to handle Thai as the world-script of Adobe.

  46. August 26, 2015

    Blur brush in Photo paint.
    Full customization of color profiles.
    Just like in Adobe.

  47. August 19, 2015

Fix CorelCapture’s hotkey. All I see is an error that the hotkey is already in use. This happens for every hotkey I attempt. Cannot find a solution. Please provide an over-ride option so that it can override whatever other program might be taking over the hotkeys.

  48. August 16, 2015

For heaven’s sake do something about the pathetic handling of text – especially when importing from other software. More than slightly annoyed by the way CDX7 decides to use a font I’ve never heard of to import something from Word, or lose all the formatting, or just generally screw up.

Also if you want to make a change to text (change the font, font size etc) you can select the text with CTRL-A, make your change, only to find that anything outside the visible text box (overflow) has not changed. This is so dumb it’s not funny.

Been using Draw since V1.0a and in some areas you’re not just going backward, but accelerating.

    • November 12, 2015

I think instead of Corel changing your fonts the program should automatically find the right font and match it.

  49. August 13, 2015

My wishlist, other than millions of bug fixes:

Ability to change colors and size of patterns of the vector fill.
Plus better “capturing” of said fill to create new fills. (more precise, snapping to nodes)

Revamp of the whole calligraphy/sprayer set.

A bug I hate in X7: If I change size of object with scale outline on, the outline will keep the old measurement. It will change thickness, but measurement is still same. You have to go into the outline properties to see the new size. It is not reflected in the toolbar, it is not “drag-droppable” to new objects.

  50. August 3, 2015

    Paul Hoffman

Redesigning the old perspective, extrude tools to make them more akin to Xara or even Sketchup.

Combining the bevel tool into the extrude tool or getting rid of it completely. It rarely works on anything more than simple shapes.

Adding an interactive bitmap perspective and or envelope tool where you can drag the corners of a bitmap instead of playing hit or miss with the existing number-based interface.

Add a 3d option (as Adobe has) that can create round bases based on a single profile.

Add an ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ check box for the fillet/scallop/chamfer tool so you have more control with type smoothing.

Fix the lighting tool bug that randomly reverses the light direction on more complex shapes.

The ‘copy effect/drop shadow’ tool still doesn’t make an exact copy of the drop shadow you select. Sometimes it’s not even close.

Add a 3d rotate tool to extrusions that are not set in perspective mode.

There’s more, but these are some of the oldest issues Corel still has.

  51. July 29, 2015

When I import adobe file to corel the gradients changes or that comes has bitmap, that should be rectified

Changes that has to be made for Corel X8

    1. Large text handling ( if i had a text of example 50 lines and you scale it to 300 or 400% it takes too much time to refresh the text on each minor change )

    2. Transparency Modes are not moved to PDF files or sometime they broke totally on export even on small modifications ( Example: Transparency>Mode Saturation ) try to save it on PDF see what happens …..

    3. Exporting formats longer than 5040 or removing that silly Limit 2540 ( make a Square 3000mm long by 50mm height put some color on it Red Green or Blue doesn’t matter try to Export and see what happens……)

    4. Perspective Option for Bitmaps converted using Bitmap>Convert to Bitmap ( bet none can do this in Corel I have to switch like Crazy to Photoshop )

    5. Adding Nodes control in Power Trace Mode including smoothness for nodes before you hit even the Apply button because after that i have to play like crazy to clean like 4000 nodes which are not even necessary

    6. Reconfigure whole he Export and Import for EPS file formats ( fixing the export to 96 DPI EPS because somehow even the new Rolands can’t see EPS on 96 DPI Exported with Corel < i have to play like Nuts with DPI settings to not lose the Vector data of the Text )

    7. Fix the Power Clip ( Entering into power Clip and get Exit from it it a headache as hell ( Imagine Multi power clipping with 3 images each 1000mm by 1000mm = Nightmare )

    8. B-Spline Tool – Great thing just need some more attention on it…..

    9. Contour tool / it does need Urgently Break Whole Contours apart Option ( Example make a Test with an Circle use Contour with values like 3 Steps Contours each 5MM and then magic happens i have to Break them one by one….

    10. This is only Part 1 thanks for your timing and so on
    Best Regards

      bob krauss

please corel do not add feature but fix fuckin the bug
      for example
      1. flicker when dragging windows
      2. keyboard shortcut the worst ever
      3. layer system combine : hide, print, and edit (just like in photoshop/ai it’s way more simple)
      4. the whole UI is not comfortable / laggy
      even on high-end PC
      for one example :
      – when you add new layer it’s automatically move to most top, it’s very annoying
      – change CMYK to RGB took years compare with AI it’s just 1 second
      – laggy when you move object to top/bottom
      5. Automatically connect ONLINE to search content , fill, gradient, font = is the most disturbing feature, and often it’s become crash, COREL team is so stupid really

if i explain everything it will take years, the point is overall UI is very buggy/laggy
look at AI/photoshop everything is so smooth, well it’s just critique
it’s up to corel team to fix them or add another useless feature

      Hi Denislav,
      In response to
The transparencies aren’t even compatible between X6 and X7 because of the major changes of the parameters they’ve added. So making these changes applied to a PDF seems to me almost impossible. The PDF file can be opened to so many other programs and it’s like forcing CorelDRAW to become compatible with everyone of them.

You don’t have to switch like crazy in Photoshop. I distort my bitmpas ALL THE TIME within CorelDRAW and a linked PhotoPaint. And it works great! ‘Been doin’ it since Corel 9 or 10, don’t remember!!!
Convert your image as a bitmap in CDRAW. Then select EDIT BITMAP that will open your selected object in PPaint. Click on your object until you’ll see 4 arrows on each corner. From there, have fun distorting your bitmap.
If you need pointers, communicate with me. I’ll be glad to help.

The beaking apart of the contour tool. I understand you. Here’s what I do in that case. I apply the contour. Then break it apart. When you apply more than one step, the ‘other’ new objects are grouped together. I use keyboard shortcuts. I select the group of object then…CTRL+U, CTRL+L, CTRL+K…3 clicks and it’s done. Ungroup, Combine, Break Apart.

      Hope this helps.

Your other examples are OK. In my case, I’ve never met them because I’ve never used CorelDRAW to a point where I have to go so far.

      ROCK ON!

Would love simple to use 3D features like in Illustrator.
Also 3D tools for package design, incl. shrink sleeve design. There are not many software packages on the market for this and this would be an outstanding selling feature.

    Ken Far

Thanks Corel for the opportunity to provide input.
Corel is getting better but it does fall a little behind adobe.
1: Adobe type image linking/updating that works
2: Better handling of magazines and booklets with 100’s of images (linking)
    3: Stability
4: Contents/Indexs (we should be able to easily create Content/Index pages from large booklets we design
5: Better Interactive features for interactive presentations (movie import, sounds etc like indesign)
6: Better HTML capabilities for web design, web header, emails marketing etc
7: Variable Data features that are powerful and work

Adobe has always had the slight upper hand being the industry standard….corel is stepping up and almost on par. Give corel adobes power…come on corel you are nearly there.

Corel will take the lead when it improves its large booklet, magazines, image linking and handling of massive files and pages. Its a no brainer…been a corel user for over 16 years and love it…..but i have to use indesign for booklets just to stable compared to coreldraw. when it comes to hundreds of linked images and pages.

Corel is not far behind and will be soon a industry standard software solution for the design and print industry. Strengthen and improve some features and you are there

      Hi Ken,

Corel is behind Adobe???? Not quite sure…
Here, you’re asking for ONE program to do the same thing as…how many Adobe programs?
CorelDRAW does like…Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc, etc…
And how much does it cost???

You’re right from a certain point of view…But CorelDRAW is intended for EVERYONE. Adobe products are specifically intented for people who have learned it in a school for a precise objective. Take both programs where someone has never used any of them. Wich program is more user friendly?

CorelDRAW is becoming more and more professionnal. If we ask ALL to be more like Adobe, I personnaly think CorelDRAW should price up their product as well! That way they might be able to have the budget to be more competitive.

      Just a thought.

in corel 12 you have corel RAVE animator, I want it back or better 2d animation with x8.
    thats all 4 me

    • November 12, 2015

Needs to be able to execute really well – so they would have to license a really competent existing product again, sure enough. Rave was great, but was like V0.8 or something. It was also a Flash tool. Fortunately there are several potential apps to choose from (including free) now that HTML5 has been around a few years.
Search: alternative to adobe edge animate

I’m an original user and it doesn’t seem all that long (1989).

What I would love to see, is a Linux Version of CorelDraw X8.
I have swapped to Linux some years ago and I am very happy. Except that I always have to start a VirtualMachine in order to run CorelDraw.

A native Linux Version (i86 but even better would be x64 support).

Page can be converted to 2 or more canvas / pages on a screen for different related works.

    • November 4, 2015

Are you referring to the “Page Sorter View” under the view drop down?

I would like to see the pentool used for drawing vector drawings using illustrator in CorelDraw. The control which we get using the pentool in adobe applications is too good.

I like to work in X8 with multipaged cdr files. I have to create documents for print and web, so i must permanently change between Corel an Adobe. It is still at time, to produce more than one site with a graphic Suite. So i imagine a Corel Program inside of the Suite with Features of inDesign (multipage) who ia convertible to html (Website) and pdf (print and distribute). And please: Free of cloud!

CorelDraw lacks the ability of confining the shapes (like tengentical lines, Equals, Co-centric, etc…) as in confining options in autodesk CAD softwares…

  68. May 13, 2015

    Conan Of Rottingham

I would like the ability to select different pages for offsetting content.

Say I have 8 pages. I would like to move all content on the odd pages to the right 0.50 inches and all content on the even pages left 0.50 inches. Doing this is something I do regularly but would like more automation. I can’t seem to find any macros to do this. Built in features would be nice if they existed.

  69. May 13, 2015

    Conan Of Rottingham

I would like the ability of importing a multi-page PDF in corel all at once instead of importing 1 page at a time. Say you want to import an 8 page PDF… Corel should import, add pages by itself, leaving you with an 8 page document.

I know not everyone needs this but I do very often.
That is what I would like to see.

    • June 4, 2015

such feature is already in existence since corelx5
all you need to do is to use import command not drag and drop…

  70. May 12, 2015

for transparency tool the AI is much easier to use by just adjusting the transparency in the dialog box than keep on using the transparency tool.

(This comment came in to us in Polish – So we translated it using Google Translate):

Changes I would like to see in CorelDraw :
    1. For more on the effects of bitmap images.
    2. Larger capacity for text manipulation , its shape, perspective , etc .
    3. Stability of the program – polepszcie is necessary.
    4. Improved file import AI , EPS , PS , and other vector to imported images , vectors and arcades were cut to pieces , and there were whole objects.
    5. More opportunities for transferring the imported text on multiple pages.
    6. Enhanced ability to create calendars in different layouts with names and holidays for Poland.
    7. Effects Tutorials interesting applications and create your own effects also in Polish.

I have not had one issue with X7 since installed on a new and stripped down pc. Also downloading a legal Beta version of X8 on my pc at home with absolutely no issues as of yet.

  74. March 24, 2015

Fix the issues causes of crashing. My Mac running parallels 9 windows 7 handles Corel Draw X6 better than my PC, running windows 7, at work. Then we changed to X7 at work a few months ago. Click print, crash. Click save, crash. Click a color, crash. It isn’t often, but enough to be frustrating. Since it happens at random times, not sure what it is, but the program can be made more stable BEFORE releasing. X7 is really unexpectedly crash heavy. A better refresh rate wouldn’t hurt, so I don’t have to keep zooming in and out or scrolling to see current changes correctly on screen

    • May 28, 2015

If your CorelDRAW version keeps crashing on your PC, I’d think of either cleaning it up or reformatting it. I’ve been using Corel since version 7. The only version I met that was really buggy was version 10. It came with CorelARM. That option popped up every time CDraw crashed. And it crashed like 10 times a day, for no reason!!!

Every computer is formatted differently with different programs installed. Windows has the darn COMMON FILES folder wich share so many files throughout the machine. I think it has a lot to do with how your CDraw reacts to your computer.

  75. March 16, 2015

I would also like expect Mac version of Corel

Please speed up vector object calculation and display. Designing facades is really taking time! An optional sound signal (ready) indicating the end of a (long) busy period would be really helpful! Thanks!

    One More thing please,
In CorelDRAW r5 there is subprogram called “Corel Chart”, Could You Please, rejoin this program to the package of CorelDRAW X8.

I would Like to find the REVOLVE command in CorelDRAW X8 (18 ) looks like the One in Adobe Illustrator or better, to let us design in 3D mode.
Try to fix the problems that making program hang when we use the Arabic text.
In the version of CorelDRAW r8 the command “Create Character” lets us build a group of characters under 1 samples font, I hope to re activate the properties.
Increase the Quality of (Trace Command ) .
    Thank You .. 🙂

  79. February 22, 2015

To get better algoritms on vectorizing images
-can use color stages , better shape detection
smoother interlacing less knodes better quality

to get more deformers or deform tools
when chose pahe tipe like a4 , a3 , letter to also chose layouts power poit tipe layouts

to permit a metod to save files in exe full pages for presentations

  80. February 4, 2015

    D. Greb

I wish they would fix the simple things that don’t work well before working on exciting new features! X6 handles text poorly, trace doesn’t work as well as in X4, titles, subjects and tags can’t be seen in the Open Drawing dialog box so what’s the point of having them… little useful things that worked in past versions and don’t work any more.

  81. February 2, 2015

    Altaf Shaikh

CorelDRAW is master software in vector format, and very user friendly with designer. But many time we designer face coreldraw software hang while working in software. Please solve this in X8.

Gradient color tool not in corel draw plz corel draw x8 must be include the tool

    • November 4, 2015

It’s called the Interactive Fill Tool. And yes, it has gradient options.

  84. January 8, 2015

drag-drop from tab to tab, a much more modern calendar generator, QR code generator, revert to shape from container(after extraction from powerclip)

  85. January 4, 2015

Corel killed his Corel Draw. After the Release 10 the display becomes to be very slow. I wonder why because our files are the same. Now at each mouse click you have the wait. Even on strong CoreI7 PC. Try the Release 9 and feel the difference.

    • November 12, 2015

Video issues – driver hanging, try an update. Check your settings. Look in that direction. If it’s a desktop, you have the option to get a faster more reliable card.

  89. October 25, 2014

    IPTC support

  90. October 13, 2014

I would like to see a Mac version. I am currently using Parallels and windows 8 in order to run CorelDRAW on my Macbook Pro which is bulky and buggy, especially with printing.

    • January 17, 2016

      Have you tried VMware Fusion?
Mac version is as likely as pigs will fly.

  91. September 18, 2014

In Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, the plugin QR code generator is functional but in CorelDRAW it’s not. I would like to see that added as well as basic 3D design capabilities.
